Mock Draft 2.0

Updated: 2 days ago

I lied. We got a second mock draft coming your way. There have been some recent free agency moves over the last couple days, and the landscape has once again changed. Let’s have a look at how that may affect some teams draft strategies.

1.) Titans

Not much is changing here in pick #1. Nothing at all actually. Titans have their guy in Cam Ward. They’ve had a few private workouts, brought him to the facility, he’s locked into Tennessee.

2.) Browns

With the addition of Joe Flacco, I believe the Browns now shift off the QB position with their first pick. Pairing Abdul Carter with Myles Garrett would just be ridiculous. The Browns need help all over, but they wouldn’t pass up on Carter here. I’d be shocked if they went with Hunter here.

3.) Giants

Travis Hunter becomes a New York Giant with the #3 pick. The obvious pairing with Malik Nabers, plus the addition of Russel Wilson and Jameis Winston, it’ll be another weapon for NY at the wide receiver position. Though, I do believe the Giants may take him as a CB as well. One or the other.

4.) Patriots

I like Will Campbell here for the Patriots. New England needs some help on their OL, and adding this stud from LSU will bring some stability back to the trenches. He’ll be ready to go and making an impact quickly.

5.) Jaguars

Mason Graham will be next up for Jacksonville. No real switch from the last mock. A dominant interior player who will wreak havoc on the inside that the Jaguars will love to have.

6.) Raiders

No Jeanty this pick for Las Vegas. They will still go offensive here with the 6th pick and take Tet McMillan. A wide body receiver who will be effective in the right scenarios. I like that he will have Geno Smith, who is not a nobody at QB, and he would provide some talent to that barren part of their roster.

7.) Jets --> Steelers

The first, and maybe only jump in the first round for a QB. I think this is where Shedeur Sanders goes. Lots of workouts and facility visits as of late, and Aaron Rodgers is nowhere to be found. I think Pittsburgh plays it safe and takes one of the QBs they believe in. Most likely, Shedeur.

8.) Panthers

While they could use some help on their DL, I believe Carolina will still take Will Johnson here. Bookending him with Jaycee Horn is going to be an issue.

9.) Saints

This is who I think the Steelers will be trying to jump. While it’s not entirely necessary, the Saints don’t have a lot of QB options. Derek Carr, Spencer Rattler, and Ben DiNucci. If, they feel strongly enough about a QB, I think this is where they take one. That guy would probably be Jaxson Dart, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a different QB comes off the board here.

10.) Bears

While they did address their OL furiously at the start of this off season, Chicago isn’t stopping there. Josh Simmons will be taken by the Bears, and they will be happy to add more talent to their OL.

11.) 49ers

Armand Membou, the extremely well-rounded tackle will be a 49er with this pick. They need to start thinking about getting a replacement for Trent Williams, who is going to be 37 this summer. They will need a lot more, but this will be a good start.

12.) Cowboys

The Cowboys go with a dicey pick, but one that I think will work well in the long run. Ashton Jeanty joins the ranks in Dallas, to join a RB room that is in much need of talent. Jeanty will bring exactly that.

13.) Dolphins

Dolphins still need some help on their OL. Desperately. Luckily, Kelvin Banks Jr. will be available with the 13th pick. The very talented tackle from Texas will help seal off defenders and make Tua’s life a little easier.

14.) Colts

Like last time, I think Tyler Warren becomes a Colt here. Indy really doesn’t have a viable TE they can rely on. Until now.

15.) Falcons

I’m still a fan of a defensive pick for Atlanta, but I think instead of Mykel Williams, they go with a slightly more refined Jalon Walker. This guy can play LB and edge, so he is a good Swiss army knife in and out of the line.

16.) Cardinals

I think between either a defensive end or an OL, Arizona will be happy either way. Let’s go defense here, and therefore I like Shemar Stewart for the Cards. A big, physical frame with power and speed off the edge. A great pick here for Arizona.

17.) Bengals

Walter Nolen from Ole Miss is a great pick for Cincinnati. This man is a presence on the defensive front, and the Bengals need all the help they can get on defense. Their offense is set up just nicely.

18.) Seahawks

Same philosophy for the Seahawks here. A team with a dire need of offensive line help should not pass up on an OL. I think Tate Ratledge or Donovan Jackson is a great pick here. Both players are guards since Seattle needs to prioritize this position most.

19.) Buccaneers

For this pick to happen, I think it would need to be a combination of a love for this player and need to make this position stronger. Malaki Starks going to Tampa Bay would be great because he is a very talented player, and they could pair him with Antoine Whitfield Jr. Todd Bowles and his defensive mind would probably love that.

20.) Broncos

Not fixing what I think is right here. Omarion Hampton to the Broncos makes sense in every sense. No need to overthink.

21.) Steelers --> Jets

Against my better judgement, and maybe the Jets’ as well, this is where they take a tight end. In this scenario, I like Colston Loveland for New York. They are another team that could certainly benefit from his size, blocking, and playmaking ability at the tight end position.

22.) Chargers

The Chargers need some help on their defensive front. If Derrick Harmon is still available, he would be a fantastic selection here for Los Angeles. He would provide some much-needed help for a depleted Chargers pass rush.

23.) Packers

I still think they could go WR here, but I think Green Bay will be smart and go CB here. Either Maxwell Hairston from Kentucky or Jahdae Barron from Texas. Both are very good players.

24.) Vikings

If Tyler Booker is here, I think the Vikings got their guy. They need some serious OL help, and the Bama lineman is a proven talent. J.J McCarthy will need all the time and protection he can get.

25.) Texans

This would be a dream scenario for C.J Stroud. Since Stefon Diggs is a Patriot and Tank Dell is out for the year, go get Emeka Egbuka if he’s available. The OSU connection would be strong here and I’m sure it would pay off in production.

26.) Rams

I’m going to take a swing here. I think the Rams take a QB here, either Will Howard or Kyle McCord. Here’s why. If the Rams believe in one of these guys enough, they will have plenty of time to learn and adjust to the NFL. Plus, Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay would be their teacher. I just think it makes sense, IF Los Angeles likes one of these guys enough. This would be a pick to set them up in the future.

27.) Ravens

I like Kenneth Graham for the Ravens. I like the depth Baltimore has at edge and OLB, and while it could be improved, I think their interior front is a little weaker. Adding Graham would bolster that front up nicely.

28.) Lions

Not going to change this pick either. Josh Connerly Jr. is a great pick for Detroit. Strengthen up the trenches and don’t look back.

29.) Commanders

Matthew Golden is going to Washington here. His vertical speed and ability after the catch is something to behold. An extra playmaker for the already impressive Jayden Daniels.

30.) Bills

I still like Luther Burden Jr. for Buffalo if he is available here. They need some depth at the WR position, and he’d do just that.

31.) Chiefs

I think the Chiefs go OL instead of DL which was predicted in my last mock. Grey Zabel would be a great pick for KC because of his versatility. He can play almost any position on the line.

32.) Eagles

I’ll personally be shocked if he slides this far, but if he does, I don’t think the Eagles pass on Jihaad Campbell. He is just a physical presence in the box or playing pure LB. Philly would turn him into a Pro-Bowler at minimum.
